National Policy Seminars Held To-date: Seminar Theme: Power Sector Reforms in Uganda Venue: Windsor Hotel, Entebbe. Date: 24^th– 25^thJune 2004 Key Objectives: - To disseminate AFREPREN/FWD research findings of studies carried out in the research period 1999-2003. - To garner energy policy research priorities of stakeholders in the energy sector and identify areas for future research. Brief report on the seminar (Downloadable in PDF format) Seminar Theme: Energy Services for Small Scale Enterprises in Uganda Venue: Windsor Hotel, Entebbe. Date: 23^rd-24^th April 2002 Key Objectives: - Expose policy makers and key players in small scale enterprise sector in Uganda to available sources of energy and the challenges of accessing improved energy services for production. - Discuss energy policy options for:- a) Improvement of technological performance of the small-scale industry b) Expanded urban electrification c) Increased stakeholder participation in energy services for the small scale enterprise sector. - Provide fresh insights and innovative recommendations that would promote consensus on the way forward for enhanced energy services for the small scale enterprise sector.
